Katharina Klinger

I am interested in the electrophysiological changes in neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative diseases.
Since 2019 I am a PhD student in our group. Here I am working on the role of interneurons and network switch in the hippocampus related to memory formation in healthy aging. To tackle this important and exciting topic I am using transgenic mice lines, DREADD injections, behavior and the possibility to record network and cell activity in the brain. My focus is on GABAergic interneurons in the dentate gyrus and the cholinergic as well as GABAergic long-term projections from the medial septum to the hippocampus.
